Who can join?

Anyone above the age of 12 can register. This course is great for students, young adults, working professionals, stay at home parents, and retired individuals, NOT restricted to males or females. If you are a beginner who has the desire and dedication to learn this beautiful religion, this is a perfect fit for you!

If you currently are enrolled in an Alim course and would like to join us due to the ease of learning remotely, upon assessment you will be placed accordingly.

There are three semesters in our academic year. This course will require six years to complete.

  مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَطْلُبُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا مِنْ طُرُقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَتَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا رِضًا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ وَإِنَّ الْعَالِمَ لَيَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالْحِيتَانُ فِي جَوْفِ الْمَاءِ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْكَوَاكِبِ وَإِنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ

وَرَثَةُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ لَمْ يُوَرِّثُوا دِينَارًا وَلَا دِرْهَمًا وَرَّثُوا الْعِلْمَ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ أَخَذَ بِحَظٍّ وَافِرٍ

 

Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, then Allah will ease for him the path to Paradise. Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge. Verily, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the depths of the water, will seek forgiveness for the scholar. Verily, the virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is the superiority of the moon over the stars. Verily, the scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. They do not leave behind gold or silver coins, but rather they leave behind knowledge. Whoever has taken hold of it has been given an abundant share.

Anas ibn Malik, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said:

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

Are there any prerequisites for the course?

The only prerequisites are that the student can read the Qur’an fluently; i.e the Arabic alphabet, as well as make sure he/she attends the weekly lessons and studies. These three conditions are needed in order for the student to learn.

What if I have studied some of the initial years of the Alim Course with some other institute/madrasah and want to join your institute?
